The early morning of May 8th, the Sheridan Police Department received information regarding an aggravated battery in the alley west a bar in Sheridan. As Clayton was leaving the bar to go home, he was followed by two men he did not know previously and he was brutally attacked. He sustained a fractured left eye facial bone, which requires surgery, and he had to get staples in his head in more than one location, according to court documents.
Two men were arrested and charged with a felony aggravated assault and battery. One man has already faced charges in multiple counties on domestic violence, interference, possession of controlled substances, larceny and driving violations. The other man is already in jail on a probation revocation charge for 180 days because he was not supposed to be in an alcohol establishment on May 8, and previously told the court that he was not in the bar that day. Surveillance video showed him in the bar May 8.
Clayton has served four years in the U.S. Marines and is working as a Personal Trainer in pursuit of his Bachelors of Exercise Science. He does not have medical insurance and his girlfriend is taking time off of work to tend to his medical needs while he is at bedrest. Medical and travel assistance would be greatly appreciated as Clayton has to travel out of state to seek medical attention due to the severity of injuries.
