September 29, 2019 marks 50 years since the brutal murder of UMC Pastor Bruce Johnson. He was  stabbed 14 times and his wife Eugenia was stabbed 19 times. They were part of a community wide effort for self - determination, and to stop the urban renewal displacement of Puerto Ricans and other poor from the Lincoln Park Neighborhood of Chicago. Their murders are still unsolved.

Monies raised will go toward organizing  a  Social Justice Worship  & March, sponsored by the Young Lords. This includes: housing, food, brochures, printing, food & refreshments for volunteers, banners, posters, transportation, art & design, contributions for entertainment, supplies. and a volunteer appreciation event.

The worship will take place September 29, 2019 10:30 AM  at Parish of the Holy Covenant: United Methodist Church, Chicago 925 W. Diversey Pkwy. It will be followed by a Justice March to honor and never forget the Johnsons.
