Hi, my name is Douglas Jackson, and I’m reaching out for help during one of the most difficult and urgent times of my life.

I am a person living with HIV, and I recently endured a wrongful incarceration during which I suffered serious medical neglect, including being denied my HIV medication and experiencing seizures. These events caused my health to become unstable, and I am now fighting to regain my stability while pursuing legal action against the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department for the violations I suffered.

Since my release, I have been working tirelessly with medical providers and case managers to recover my health and secure safe housing, but my emergency funding has expired. Without immediate help, I face homelessness while medically vulnerable, which could put my life at serious risk.
