On 09/05/2025, at around 7:45 PM, my 8-year-old son was struck in a hit and run while riding his bike outside of our home at Mercantile Square Apartments in Fort Worth, TX.
Reports from witnesses say the driver of a black SUV not only hit him but actually drove over him head-on. Witnesses say the driver even got out, looked at him lying there, and then sped away — leaving him in the street screaming, skinned, and bloody, not knowing if he would be okay.
I was made aware, rushed to him, and immediately called 911.
Thankfully, my son survived with no critical or life-threatening injuries.
We believe his bike being wedged between him and the vehicle is what ultimately saved his life. He has been left injured, shaken, and deeply traumatized by this horrific event.
Right now, he is suffering an enormous amount of pain both mentally and physically. At his age, he’s starting to care about his appearance — and he is devastated by his injuries. He worries about scarring, goes back and forth between emotional breakdowns and putting on a brave face, and is trying so hard to be okay.
He’s such a strong and brave boy, and he did not deserve what this person did to him. He’s been through so much already, and he doesn’t deserve the physical or mental trauma he’s having to endure. He can't sleep without crying throughout the night. He shakes uncontrollably in his sleep. He says it's all he can think about or see. His appetite has significantly decreased due to his pain. He's now saying he's scared to live in our apartment complex and begs us to move away.
Since Fort Worth PD took the weekend off, we’ve spent the past few days doing our own investigating, checking every black SUV we see for damage, and trying to gather any information that might help identify the driver. We are so overwhelmed by the love and support our community has shown—we truly don’t know how we could ever repay everyone for stepping up to help our family during this horrific time.
As his mother, I will do everything in my power to make sure the person responsible is held accountable.
Unfortunately, seeking justice through the legal system comes with costs we cannot handle alone. This fund will help us:
- Secure legal representation to pursue justice for our son
- Cover filing fees, court costs, and investigative support
- Relocate our family to a safer living situation so our son can feel secure and begin to heal.
No parent should ever have to beg for justice for their child. But I will not stop until the driver who did this faces consequences.
Any donation — no matter the size — will help us move closer to accountability, safety, and peace of mind.
If you are unable to donate, please share this campaign and help us spread the word. Together, we can bring awareness, apply pressure, and make sure no other child suffers the same.
Thank you for taking time to read this—and your love, prayers, and support during this time.
