My name is Alexus, and I am raising funds for my brother, Quran Pope. He was only 27 years old and spent the last five years of his life suffering in the prison system for a crime he did not commit. Despite our best efforts, we barely had enough to afford a lawyer, and Quran endured emotional, mental, and physical abuse in multiple facilities. He was transferred from Harris County to several different prisons, and at each one, he faced unimaginable torture and violence. Even after being beaten nearly to death several times, he survived and kept fighting.

On February 6, 2026, Quran had his last conversation with our mother. He was in the hospital, stripped of everything—his tablet, phone calls, and even food. He begged a female correctional officer to let him call our mother from her personal phone. During that short call, he pleaded for help, terrified to return to Wynne Unit Prison because he believed they were trying to kill him. Just days later, on February 11, Quran was found unresponsive in his cell. Authorities are trying to convince us it was a possible suicide, but we know the truth about what he endured.

We are heartbroken and struggling to give Quran the dignity and peace he deserves. He did not have life insurance, as it is not available for prisoners. The funds raised will help us cover his funeral, cremation, and burial services, as well as travel expenses for my mother who is out of town.
