My name is Shardae Day, and I’m asking for support for my grandfather, Joe, who was the victim of a violent attack on March 31st near 38th and Illinois in Indianapolis. He was jumped by a group of teenagers and has been hospitalized ever since with a broken arm, multiple fractures, several missing teeth, and partial blindness in one eye.

This has been incredibly devastating for our family, both physically and emotionally. As he fights to recover, we are facing medical expenses and the challenges that come with long-term care and healing.

We are also speaking out because this situation reflects a much larger issue, youth violence in our communities. No one, especially an elderly man, should have to endure something like this.
