Hi I’m Kaila and I’m setting this up on behalf of Bre Clayton and her family. Let me tell you the story of Tyson bubby boy Johnson. He was the family dog of my step son Rylan and his mom, Bre Clayton, and his three sisters, Grace, Ava & Ivy. Tyson wasn’t just any boxer he was their whole world. Tyson was a rescue that came into their lives as a “test run” and the rest was history he was never to return to the rescue ever again. He had found his forever home and they had found their forever dog.
Bre watched her dog be murdered in front of her by her neighbor. She watched him shot and killed five feet from her while trying to get him after a small child left her door open during a Thanksgiving party and he got out. He ran into the neighbors yard and the neighbor shot and killed him without being bit or attacked. The neighbor choose violence the day before Thanksgiving and Bre had to hold her dog while he died in her arms. As you can imagine it’s painful to step out of her home every day to see where she watched her favorite fur family member die. Where she heard the shot and his cry. Where she lay with him in her arms, bleeding out. It’s hard for her kids to enjoy playing outdoors knowing the man who killed their dog is just feet away. It’s hard to let their other dog out knowing the same thing could happen to him. They need help with funds to hire a lawyer to sue for damages. They need funds for Justice for Tyson.

I’ll let Bre’s own words from her fb page “Justice for Tyson” tell you the events of that day- as I was not there.

Our best friend, the love of our lives, the best pup in the world - our favorite butt shaking tail wagging carb loving family member.
On November 22nd, we had a house full of kids over for “Kidsgiving” to celebrate the holiday with my best friends and their babies. While the kids were playing inside & out we contained Tyson & his brother, Homie Pawl into the bedroom. As we were all inside, I checked the doors to make sure they were all locked and shut besides the garage door as I forgot the garage was opened by one of the kids. (My fault - not theirs) and I let the dogs come out as Tyson had to be anywhere I was and especially if his kids are home he had to be right there waiting for them to drop a snack or just safely watch them from the couch. We started getting ready to do crafts with the kids when someone yelled, “the dogs are out!!!!” I panicked as we live on a main road. I ran out and was met by my neighbor and she pointed them out as cars were stopped trying to catch them. The dogs got startled and took off to run home. As they ran home, a neighbor who wasn’t outside prior to was outside in his back yard. The man reached for my boxer to try and grab him- which I thought he was trying to help me. But - that is when Tyson barked and stepped back. I was running directly behind him, I was almost to him - if you’ve ever owned or met a boxer you know they’ve got speed. Boxer laps are his favorite, especially up north on our property. Anyways, as I was almost there. The man pulled a gun out and point blank shot Tyson less than a foot away from him. At the moment I thought I was dreaming - I swore it was maybe a BB gun or taser or something. It couldn’t have been an actual gun…not with me right there or my kids and their friends next door who were just outside moments ago.
It couldn’t have been a gun I thought- until Tyson let out of the biggest cry and looked at me and tried to limp away towards home and me, where he collapsed. I rushed to him, fell to the ground and tried to do CPR, anything, shaking him. Screaming for help. He passed moments later in my arms. The image I saw will never be erased from my mind. I can’t close my eyes without seeing what happened to my bubs. I hear the sound he made. I see him slowly stop breathing as I’m screaming and pleading with God to let him make it.
I could’ve been shot and killed myself, or my kids if they were running behind the dogs like my daughter JUST was moments before.
Our family is devastated, we have cried together for hours and days, we have feared our own lives living next to someone who could be so cruel.
I’ll never get my bubs back to me but I will make sure no other dog is harmed.
Run free bubs, you’re safe now. Enjoy all the bread, steak and anything else your heart desires. When you think of your dogs last days you think of a victory ride to get burgers, a pup cup, all the endless treats. You think of all your favorite things to do together and you make their last moments count. This is not how it should’ve been - He deserved more. He deserved all the belly rubs, bread and cuddles he wanted. He did not deserve to die on a cold ground with his favorite person screaming next to him.
I told you this a million times before you passed and even after as I laid on the ground next to you before I was forced to let you go to the vet, I’m so sorry. I am so sorry bubs, you made our lives better.

Bre doesn’t want to raise her kids in a home where they’re afraid of their neighbors or have to be reminded of what happened. She wants a fresh start. She wants justice for her dog, for all the dogs that have died in such a tragic way. She needs help to do that. If you could find it in your heart to donate, even a $1, that would mean the world to her, our son and his sisters. Anything helps!
if you would like to follow along in Tyson and Bre’s journey you can follow Justice for Tyson on fb and instagram. If you cannot donate please consider sharing. Thank you!
