Summary
On Saturday 12th April, my partner was deliberately run down (repeatedly) by a car while cycling home in what was an attack by a vehicle.
Details of the incident
Tosin was cycling down Globe Road (E2) on his way to shoot some footage for his masters project when a car deliberately swerved in front of him and then attempted to run him over directly multiple times. He was eventually knocked and is lucky to be alive.
The full circumstances of the case have led us to pursue legal action, and we are working with solicitors to ensure those responsible are held accountable.
He sustained multiple non life threatening injuries that mean he is struggling to walk. However, the one injury that cannot simply heal with time is the loss of various of his teeth, including multiple front teeth. He is not only traumatised but he doesn’t recognise himself in the mirror. His reflection is a continuous reminder to him and his loved ones of what happened. Because of his teeth, his voice has also changed significantly.
Reconstructive dental work has been quoted at thousands of pounds, a cost that sits alongside physiotherapy, legal fees, and all the other costs this incident has brought about.
He is someone who has always cycled everywhere it’s how he moves through the world, how he gets to his studies. Right now he is scared to even leave the house.
Any contribution helps him and would be extremely appreciated.
