Justice for “Tommy” & Support for Andy

We are reaching out with heavy hearts after the devastating and wrongful loss of Tommy, a promising dual-purpose K-9 who was discarded as a “washed dog” from NY Corrections’ K9 Division, and deserved a second chance at life. Alongside this tragedy, Andy — Tommy’s dedicated trainer and guardian — has suffered a massive personal and professional setback.

Through no fault of his own, Andy lost nearly all of his essential training equipment due to the theft, negligence, and reckless conduct of a local “trainer” that he had known for years and thought he could trust. This was the same individual whose actions ultimately led to Tommy’s unlawful, unauthorized, and unjustified euthanasia. While legal remedies are being aggressively pursued, justice through the courts is slow. Andy urgently needs our community’s help to continue his life-saving work training and rehabilitating dogs that come to him as a last resort.

Who Andy Is

Andy is more than just your average dog trainer — he is a respected rescuer, mentor, and advocate for dogs who are often overlooked. He helps those without the financial means to hire a trainer as much as he can, and spends each and every day working to keep dogs in their homes and out of shelter. With approximately 13 years of experience and a stellar track record for turning dogs around that have otherwise been deemed a “lost cause” by other trainers, he has built a specialized training program that gives dogs a true second chance at life. This training program was designed for the best interest of dogs and their owners, making sure he spends the proper amount of time with each dog he takes in for rehabilitation — for Andy it is quality over quantity. Those who have known Andy personally will speak highly of his compassion, dedication, and the incredible transformations he achieves with the animals in his care. He has a network of rescuers and supporters who stand firmly behind him.

Without his “tool belt” so to speak, his ability to continue training and saving lives is at risk.
