Justice for Thomas Dean: A Mother's Fight

My name is Denise. My son Thomas Dean was arrested at 14 years old & sentenced to prison time for a crime he didn’t commit but was in the car during the time the crime was committed. He told the truth about what happened to get justice for an innocent woman who lost her life, he was sentence to serve 20 years in prison anyway. He has been locked up since 2020 in different RYDC program waiting to go to prison as well as serving the last year at Al Burruss in the youthful offender program where he excelled & graduated high school. Unfortunately on April 1st 2024 he turned 18 & could no longer be in the program. He was shipped to Philips state prison April 11th, by April 15th he was on life support & April 16th he was gone. He was type 1 diabetic & had been since he was 4, as well as being a cancer survivor. The prison told the medical examiner they didn’t know he was diabetic so he wasn’t given his insulin for 4 days & ultimately it caused his sugar to go up to 1300 which made him go into a coma where he laid for 6 hours in his cell floor before he was given any medical attention, by this time his heart had stopped. He was revived & taken to the hospital where his heart stopped again & they found out his kidneys had stopped working, he had a heart attack, his lungs were completely full of fluid & he was placed on life support. I was able to spend 2 hours with him that night, to love on him, kiss him, remind him how much his momma loves him & the next night at 11:44 pm, the same time he was born on April 1st, my baby lost his life on April 16th. I am needing help to bring him back to Rome ga from Braselton ga & have his funeral before I start my new journey of fighting for justice next week. I meet with 2 attorneys Monday & have more lined up throughout the week. If you can’t donate I completely understand, I know life is hard for us all but please pray for our family.
