My name is Jamera . My fiancee Tariq Loat and I were in Puerto Rico on a much needed vacation. What was supposed to be a paradise and celebration of us soon to be parents turned into a tragedy. On Saturday April 24th, Tariq and his friend James were driving through San Juan and turned into the La Perla Neighborhood. Their vehicle was ambushed and that is when our whole lives were changed. James was brutally beaten and robbed. He was able to flee and get medical attention from a nearby bystander.  Unfortunately, my boyfriend Tariq did not receive the same fate. He went missing. On Sunday April 25th his body was found abandoned, tortured and burned. 

I am still coming to terms with this tragedy. We are expecting a son and it breaks my heart to know that our son will never be able to meet or know his father. He was a kind, caring, and everyone who knew him knew that about him and more.  My life, my unborn sons life, and that of his family will forever be changed. 

The funds raised will help with the baby's expenses as Tariq was the main support and breadwinner of the family.
