Justice for SGT Cobb

Donation protected
We are raising funds to help offset expenses my husband incurred during a vehicle accident. SGT Olinger Cobb and I have been married for 15 years, and together have 5 children, ages 3-15. As a recent US Army veteran, who was medically retired after 22 years of service, SGT Cobb suffers from PTSD, anxiety, / depression and severe nerve damage. Because of these disabilities SGT Cobb can not work full time. He has fought hard for his country, serving in different branches, first the Navy and then the Army, with many roles in his military career, including range safety officer, range tower controller, and mounted patrol machine gunner. SGT Cobb had taken and instructed various firearms classes including tactical engagement with weapons, control point access with weapons, and the use of deadly force. Safety has always been his top priority in his career and personal life.
In the summer of this year, SGT Cobb, was in a wreck due to an aggressive driver. When SGT Cobb saw the other driver, driving aggressively on the road, tailgating other drivers, swerving in and out of traffic around cars, and cutting off semi tractor trailers, SGT Cobb immediately tried to distance himself from the driver, then decided to disarm himself in the event of escalation. Since SGT Cobb had previously been rear ended in February where that driver exited the vehicle pointing a firearm at SGT Cobb; he thought it was best to act with caution. However, before SGT Cobb had a chance to move the firearm to a safe spot in the truck during this summer’s accident, the other driver rammed SGT Cobb in the back passenger side, causing SGT Cobb to lose control of his vehicle nearly hitting other drivers. After SGT Cobb called the police and gave his side of the story, the police took both drivers to jail and charged them both with aggravated assault. The police set SGT Cobb’s bond twice as high as the other driver, assuming SGT Cobb was at fault. The news said shots were fired, in the police report, the other driver accused SGT Cobb of brandishing a weapon, neither of which was true. The police never did a hand swab to see if the weapon was even fired, no bullets or shell casings were recovered from the truck. Only SGT Cobb’s firearm and the one magazine in the weapon were removed from the truck.
If you knew SGT Cobb, you know he would never point a firearm at someone, never risk damaging his truck, and never endanger lives to prove a point. As stated, he is always looking out for the safety of others. Now we are struggling financially. We are asking for everyone’s help in this time of need. This situation affects our finances, and in turn our children, our family, and our hopes of buying a house.

For this reason, our goal is to raise 50,000 by mid October in order to offset the fees from the accident while also allowing us to close on a house.
Below is a small video of SGT Cobb with his soldiers and our family, as well as a picture showing the damage to his truck. We thank you for your support.
