Justice for Sandy & a safe loving home for her son

Justice for Sandy and a loving safe home for her son.

On May 24th 2020 our lives were changed forever when we lost our sister Sandy at the young age of 36. The circumstances of her death remain “suspicious” and the person responsible for her death was never properly investigated or charged, this same person is the alleged father of her then 11 month old developmentally delayed son that she left behind. Her son (our nephew) was left in the neglectful and abusive care of this person in an unsafe and unstable environment. From what little information we were given about the welfare of the child we monitored his living conditions and sought legal advice for about six months. In late January after a few situations that put the child’s safety at serious risk we stepped in with an emergency petition from our attorney for temporary custody, we were awarded protective custody for two weeks, in this short period of time we were able to provide medical care and referrals for specialized care at Boise Childrens Hospital, and also had him tested for exposure to drugs. Although certain we would be granted at least a few months custody while things were sorted out, we were ordered to return the child and begin a long hard legal battle, as he is now 21 months old and not receiving the medical interventions he needs. My wife and I have been married for almost 20 years and have raised two smart, kind and beautiful children, and have the love and dedication to raise our nephew in the same way. This has led us to launch this campaign as my family and I bring forth more civil suits, and continue to travel out of state to attend hearings. Knowing this would be a long and costly battle and being fully committed to it, last month I returned to a full time job since retiring from the military in 2019. All proceeds of our fundraising will go to our legal and travel expenses as we hire and retain more attorneys and expert witnesses to gain permanent custody of our nephew to give him the life his mother would have wanted him to have and hopefully solve the mysterious circumstances of Sandys death in a court of law and finally give her the proper celebration of life service she deserved.
