Justice for Questionmarks: Legal Defense Fund

Donation protected

Questionmarks is a street artist who has been painting, stenciling, and wheat-pasting internationally for more than a decade. They have work in Japan, Cuba, Ireland, England, Italy, Germany, Spain, Mexico, the United States and Canada. The goal is to encourage people to question, play, and think for themselves, using a symbol we can all relate to. While some of the question marks are open to interpretation, others have site specific political agendas. For example, they climbed the border between Mexico and the U.S. to question policies of immigration. After the murder of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, they questioned the racist justice system on a large central billboard in downtown Brooklyn with the word JUSTICE?

Questionmarks was recently arrested while painting a 10 story water tower in Brooklyn. In an alarming overreaction, the NYPD deployed a helicopter, drones, and dozens of police officers to arrest Questionmarks, who now faces a list of charges. Help raise funds to cover their lawyer and legal fees, and continue the fight for Art and Justice.

Funds raised beyond our goal will go towards the ACLU’s fight for Justice.
