My name is Latese Bathea and I was shot by a landlord tenant officer on July 18th as they attempted to evict my children and I from my home. I was just recently released from the hospital and am working to obtain permanent housing. This incident made the third time a Landlord Tenant Officer used their weapon and the second time that a Black woman was shot in 4 months. Dealing with a housing crisis and having to experience trauma at the hands of an LTO officer has been extremely difficult. My children and I need immediate support funds for therapy and securing permanent housing. My young daughter witnessed me being shot and is experiencing PTSD and trauma. I plan to use these funds to support her and secure a permanent home for my family.
