Justice for Olando Brown
Donation protected
Hello, my name Barbara South, aunt of Olando Brown. On Friday, June 22, 2018, my nephew Olando Brown's life was plucked from us suddenly and tragically. This occurred while in the hands of the Barrie police. This abrupt and heart-rending end to his life has left us in inconsolable distress. The numerous videos and constant media replays, seeing him being mauled, punched, and excessively tasered by the Barrie police, makes his undeserving death extremely agonizing and heartbreaking.
Lando truly desired to be the best person he could be. He leaves behind his beautiful 11-year-old daughter, fatherless and broken!!! She is devastated and left only with fond memories of a once amazing dad. One of my fondest memories of him was witnessing him giving his life to the Lord and getting baptized. Attending bible studies and always seeking to live a life pleasing to God was a strong desire of his. This was even more evident when we went to clean his apartment and found numerous books and a diary laced with prayers. He enjoyed the simple things in life such as soccer and cooking. We miss him dearly! Still dumbfounded and paralyzed by despair, not knowing at this point how to move ahead.
The racial brutality must end!!!! its human dignity for all to be treated equally despite their race/gender. Lando is no more, all we can ask for now is social justice, and an opportunity to lay Lando to rest. We, the family, are seeking justice for Olando.
Please help us to accumulate funding to assist with legal fees and funeral arrangements for Olando. Our prayer is that NOT ONE person should face such injustice in the hands of those that pledge to "Serve and Protect". Thank you for your support, encouragement, and prayers.
