A death was reported on March 31, 2026, at Walnut Grove Correctional Facility involving32-year-old Norman Tate. Walnut Grove Correctional Officers abused Norman Tate for 5-6 days and gave him no medical treatment. A violation of the 8th Amendment. The correctional officers then disregarded his injuries and subjected him to solitary confinement. Mr. Tate was being held in solitary confinement-conditions characterized by extreme isolation, limited human interaction, restricted movement, and minimal access to basic resources. Such environments are widely recognized for their severe psychological. The mental and physical anguish he endured was detrimental. It ultimately led to his death by the hands of the officers, whom have an obligation to protect and serve but murdered Mr. Tate and lastly, concocted a story of suicide to conceal their wrongdoing.
