DO NOT USE THIS GROOMER – MY CAT DIED IN THEIR CARE

I took my healthy male Maine Coon in for a groom. He was completely fine when I left him. Just 20 minutes later, I got a call from Heather saying he had collapsed and wasn’t breathing. We rushed back, but the shop was locked and she wasn’t answering. Eventually, she told us she had taken him to the vets.

When we got there, we were told our beloved boy had died.

He was a healthy, affectionate boy, imported from Russia with a champion bloodline, and we are completely devastated. He meant everything to us, and to see how he was treated in her care is beyond heartbreaking.

Since then, Heather has refused to be transparent. She would not provide proper CCTV footage and only sent a sped-up recording filmed on her phone weeks later. From what we’ve seen, he was left unattended in a metal cage with a dryer attached to it so close to my cats skin and she had locked the cage so he couldn’t even try get out. Before that, she was handling him roughly, throwing him around like he was nothing. It is so heartbreaking to watch what he went through.

From what we have seen, it appears as if she may have given him a sedative without permission. After that, he looked drowsy and terrified—he wouldn’t even stand or look at her, which is completely unlike him as he was such a loving, affectionate cat.

Another woman, Megan, who is the owner of the shop Beauty From The Beast, was also there and has been no help at all. Their stories do not match—Heather blames Megan, and Megan acts as if she has no idea what happened, which is impossible as they were both present. They have refused to communicate properly or tell us the full truth. All they try to do is cover up their lies.

More than anything, she is not insured to look after animals. She has not paid for any vet bills, has not helped with burial costs, and has left everything to us while we are grieving. She has taken no responsibility.

She has shown no accountability, no compassion, and no remorse. While we are in shock and mourning the loss of our boy, she is still continuing her business as normal.

She should not be trusted with animals. We trusted her, and our cat never came home.
