Help My Daughter Seek Justice After a Vicious Hate Crime Attack in San Diego
On August 8th, 2025, my daughter was the victim of a brutal hate crime at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego. She was attacked by four white women who repeatedly tried to hit her pull her head underwater by her braids while she was in the swimming pool. This horrifying act could have cost her life and she is still grappling with the trauma of that day.
What followed has been a nightmare of systemic failures. When she desperately tried to report the attack San Diego Police Department dispatch hung up on her multiple times and shockingly told her that an assault in progress was “not an emergency.” The detective assigned to her case has been withholding crucial evidence, engaging in victim blaming, and has now suspended her case entirely. It’s clear to us that the attackers are being protected and we believe the hotel and police are working together to cover up the truth.
We are starting this fundraiser to help cover the mounting legal fees needed to fight for justice. My daughter deserves to have her day in court, to hold her attackers accountable and to expose the institutional racism and negligence that have allowed this injustice to continue. No one should have to endure what she has gone through.
Your support will help us hire a dedicated legal team to challenge the police department’s mishandling of the case, compel the release of evidence and pursue charges against the perpetrators. We are also seeking accountability from the Hard Rock Hotel for their role in this incident.
This isn’t just about my daughter it’s about standing up against hate crimes and ensuring that our justice system protects all victims regardless of their race. Thank you for your generosity and for helping us fight for the justice my daughter so desperately deserves. Together we can make a difference and ensure that no one else has to suffer in silence.
