Justice for Murray aka MurMan

Murray Gordan aka MurMan to many friends of his was seriously assaulted on Sunday May 4th shortly after 11 pm.

Photos above are pictures of him from the event he graciously hosted at his local disc golf course which was the same day as the assault.

Murray is a 72 year young man who does so much for the community from fundraising, donating and hosting events all over Saskatchewan. He’s a gentleman to the core, his mom would be proud of who he is today. He is a man who would go without to make sure someone has what they need. The shirt off his back kind of guy.

So, knowing how sweet and kind he is it’s so disturbing hearing what happened to him. He was hanging out at his favourite restaurant the Watrous Peppertree. He was visiting with a couple who I shall leave unnamed for fear of the witnesses safety. The couple were having a little argument which lead to them walking out without their food. Murray, the kind soul he is ran out to deliver their food and when he stepped onto the roadway a 30ish year old male punched Murray knocking Murray unconscious in the middle of the road. The attacker was seen jumping in his truck and driving away. There was one witness but has not stepped forward for fear of their safety. the waitress of Peppertree and the witness phoned an ambulance and assisted with taking care of him until the ambulance arrived. There is no hospital in Watrous therefore the ambulance had to take Murray to Humboldt for care. He suffered injuries of a concussion, stitches and possibly more as he has already had previous skull fractures from a serious accident when he was younger.

He’s looking at bills up to estimation of $500-$1000 for the ambulance, $400-$600 for new eye glasses, forfeiture of tournament expenses as he cannot play until doctors approve him as well as inability to maintain his own disc golf course.

Murray is a retired senior citizen who is on a fixed income therefore expenses like this will greatly impact him. Any donations made will go directly to Murray in making him whole.

UPDATE 2:

Murray has received most of the funds as of today in one lump sum. Since then a couple donations have been added and he will receive it the next time I see him. He wanted me to pass on another message:
