Justice for Mom: Fight Against Neglect

Donation protected
Mom turns 90! We had a fun birthday party for two. She blew out her candles on a cup of lemon cake, her favorite. Four months later... Look how gorgeous she is opening her gifts on Christmas Day.

On January 9, I became ill with COVID pneumonia. Mom was admitted to respite care while I recovered. A doctor certified that she was in good health prior to admittance. On her 11th day in the nursing home, Mom was rushed to the ER and diagnosed with:

1) Severe Dehydration
2) a UTI
3) Sepsis
4) Septic Shock
5) Encephalitis
6) Encephalitic Shock
7) COVID Pneumonia
8) Aspiration Pneumonia
9) Kidney Failure, and
10) Stage 1 Bed Sores

My beloved mother, who loved Diet Pepsi and vanilla ice cream, died. Alone, in isolation. The nursing home claims Mom developed all these medical issues between lunch and dinner.

Mom was born to poor, rural farmers. I am her only child. All my life she told me she had prayed for a daughter, and God granted her wish. We were very close; she was my mom, but she was also my best friend. She taught me how to read and write by scribbling 'How now brown cow' in the dirt. She wanted more children, but my brother's birth was complicated and back then patients did not always come first. Her doctor ignored the hospital's emergency calls, busy at his country club hosting a family dinner. Because he waited too long to perform any other procedure, he killed her baby by taking him with forceps that punctured his tiny head.

I thought neglect of that nature was a thing of the past. something that happened in 1959 but not now, in 2025. First they took her baby, and now they've taken her life. Every day I think of her dying alone, thirsty, in pain, unable to breathe with no one there to help her, just as no one helped her all those years ago when she was delirious with pain, unable to give birth.

Please help me. My lawyer needs a $3,000.00 retainer fee to pursue her case for wrongful death. Please help me get justice for her death that was caused by nothing but pure neglect. She never got justice for her baby's murder in 1959, another tragic case of neglect, not even an apology from the doctor. Don't let my mother's death get buried in a file. Please help me get my Mom justice today.
