My daughter Mishaundra is a beautiful and loving person. She is also bipolar and a drug addict. She has been battling these illnesses for over 9 years. She has been to rock bottom and back, even holding a good job, staying on her medication and helping others in recovery. She also has an amazing 9 year old daughter. Last September, my daughter got off her meds and starting using drugs again. Unfortunately, while having a bipolar episode and under the influence, she had a run in with a police officer who hates her because of her previous record. This officer has even told my wife, that my daughter was a piece of shit and her whole family are pieces of shit. He didn’t know who my wife was, because she is white. My daughter is terrified of this officer as he has been abusive before. Mishaundra made a bad decision and jumped into a car with two strangers to escape this officer. My daughter had no weapons and didn’t physically harm anyone in the car. The car never moved as The officers immediately surrounded the car. and took my daughter into custody. She has been in custody ever since. The DA is now charging my daughter with two counts of carjacking and trying to put her in prison for up to 30 years, 15 per count. My daughter does have a past record of theft and burglary but no violent crimes ever. Unfortunately, the public defender assigned to my daughter is not able to give her the defense she needs. Our family needs to raise at least $20,000 in order to get a lawyer that will be a champion for my daughter. She doesn’t deserve to go to prison. Please help our family. If I can get 4000 people to give just $5 each, we can raise enough to hire a lawyer that will fight for her. My daughter matters. #blacklivesmatter.
