My name is Sarah, and I am reaching out to you to help raise funds for legal representation as a result of the description below:
This is Millie.
She was beaten to death with a metal
pole when she escaped from her family's yard.
Her killer was allegedly seen, on CCTV, trapping her and beating her with an iron pole before putting her in a van and dumping her body.
Not only did she suffer a horrifically painful and violent death, but her family is left grieving and emotionally scarred.
And the reality is that the laws that protect animals in Victoria are so weak that most offenders almost always receive a slap on the wrist.
If this took place in Queensland he’d face up to 7 years in prison, while the maximum sentence here in Victoria is 2 year imprisonment… and those sentences are almost never handed out.
As a result of this heinous act of cruelty, and the ripple effects inflicted on the WOOD FAMILY, they have had to engage a Criminal Lawyer.
There is no victim-of-crime remuneration as Millie is referred to as “just a dog”!
The judicial system has failed the family also.
This, of course, can/will add the extra strain of financial distress.
Further to that distress is the saddening diagnosis of Stage 4 Melanoma of which Janine has commenced immunotherapy for.
Please help me help the Wood Family in getting them through a horrid time that they never asked for, nor saw coming
