Justice for Mialah — Hope and Safety for Callee.

Our family is living through a level of grief and devastation we never imagined possible. Mialah Leak, our daughter, niece, and loved one, tragically lost her life on her birthday—a day that should have been filled with joy, not sorrow. According to law enforcement reports and the ongoing investigation, her passing occurred in the adoptive home where she lived, and her adoptive mother has been identified as a primary suspect in the case.

For years, we remained closely connected to Mialah and her sister through the adoptive family. Sherry Leak, the adoptive mother, regularly brought the girls to visit us. We cherished those moments. We love those girls. But in recent months, our communication with her became limited. Visits became infrequent. This distance left us confused—and now, heartbroken beyond measure.

In the days following Mialah’s death, another devastating blow struck our family: the adoptive family cremated Mialah’s body only days after her passing, without allowing her biological relatives the chance to see her one last time, or to say goodbye. We were denied closure, denied the ability to grieve properly, and denied the dignity of laying Mialah to rest in the way our family felt she deserved.

In the midst of this unbearable loss, we are now fighting to protect and bring home the most precious part of Mialah’s legacy — her twin sister, Callee.

About Callee

Callee is a gentle, resilient child whose life has been shaped by both love and extraordinary medical challenges. She has:

• Cerebral palsy

• Non-verbal communication needs

• A feeding tube (G-tube)

• A tracheostomy, requiring careful and specialized respiratory care

Despite her medical complexities, Callee radiates strength. She depends on caregivers who understand her needs, advocate for her safety, and provide consistency, tenderness, and medical stability. Our family is fully prepared to give her the love, attention, and specialized care she needs and deserves.

We want to give her a home where she is surrounded by familiar faces, genuine affection, and the protective, unconditional love of her biological family.

Why We’re Asking for Help

We are seeking to raise $50,000 to protect Callee’s future and bring her home to the people who love her deeply. These funds will help us:

• Secure legal representation and attorney fees for the custody process and separate legal representation for obtaining Mialah's remains

• Prepare for Callee’s specialized medical needs, transportation, equipment, and daily care

• Provide trauma-informed therapy and counseling for Callee and our grieving family

This is not just a legal matter.

This is a fight for a child’s safety, stability, and emotional well-being, and a fight to honor Mialah’s memory by making sure her and her sister receive justice.
