On Aug 19th 2020 while on his way home for lunch 13 year old Marquice was accidentally run over by a car. The driver of the car, Cheryl Quashie who is a teacher at Semiahmoo Secondary decided instead of calling 911 for help to drive him home, give him a dirty towel for his bleeding wounds and then let him hop on one good leg from her car to the side of his house then left him there alone. She did not notify his parents, call 911 or seek another adult to help him before leaving. She is not being charged with anything. His mother found him outside and called for help and got him to the hospital. He suffered three broken bones in his foot, multiple deep wounds and he and his family have been both emotionally and mentally impacted by this heinous injustice. This account is to support medical costs, therapy, medications, extra costs for travel for appointments and comfortable shoes for Marquice while he recovers.and possible future legal costs etc. for the family while they continue their legal fight against the RCMP, the driver of the car and battle to have the Motor Vehicle Act for Hit and Run constitutions changed.
