Justice for Lu: A Family's Urgent Plea

I am a very close friend of a family with a special needs daughter that has a very rare disease known as Phelan Mcdermid syndrome. Due to the complexity of her syndrome, she was placed in a skilled nursing facility. Unfortunately , she was SA and the home has attempted to cover up what happened. There is a civil suit filed in Mobile County Alabama. This family is in desperate needs for funds to hire a sitter during this very disturbing time. Additionally, they need the funds to travel which is causing a financial burden on them. Here is my original post once the suit was filed, please consider sharing her story and please consider helping with any amount. It will add up and help this family more than you could imagine.

I’m so glad that the process for justice is set in place for our sweet Lu. The documents have been filed in civil court in Mobile, Al. Against Arabella Health and Wellness of Grand Bay formally known as Grand Bay Nursing. I’m glad the home has already set up devices in each room to show check ins from staff, however, this was not in place when Lu was assaulted by another resident at 2am. I hope they do the right thing and avoid a jury trial. They know they were in the wrong and tried to cover up their wrong doing. The patient is a very sweet young woman that is unable to speak for herself, so we need to speak for her. Arabella needs to be held accountable for the lack in care and poor judgment. I’ve made many post in regards to this case. I won’t stop posting until they own up to what they’ve done, and changes are made within the system. This facility is paid to make sure she’s taken care of and they FAILED her. Instead of doing the right thing by having Lu checked for SA , they tried covering it up.

A grown man who is a resident was found in Lu’s bed NAKED and pleasuring himself, with one hand between her legs. She could not fight him off, but we can fight Arabella and hold them accountable. This should have been avoided. And better be avoided in the future. If you have a loved one there, you may want to make sure that resident hasn’t wandered into their rooms at night too. And In Arabella’s words “comforted her” I’m sure I’ll edit and add many times to this post but I wanted to share that the civil suit is filed and now we wait for Arabella to DO THE RIGHT THING!!!!
