Justice for Loki Maisy & Lili-ana

Hi I’m maisy and Lili-ana’s mum, my name is Andralena and on the 25/1/25 ,Maisy’s horse Loki was catastrophically injured due to a terrible incident with a car after he bolted. The horse bolting was caused due to a loose dog who’s owner swore at the girls when they asked him to put the dog on his leash and refused to do stating “ it’s public land I can do what I want”, the girls tried to get away from the dog, but it appeared again and was running at the horse’s heels, Loki bucked and kicked out to get the dog away but it was persistent and Lili-ana was thrown to the floor before Loki bolted fleeing from the dog. Maisy was on another pony and gave chase to try and catch up to Loki, he reached the golf course entrance and Maisy tried to catch him while a kind person held the pony

she was riding. Another man tried to get him but the horse turned around and ran onto the road, where a man travelling at speed hit him and this resulted in Loki having all four legs shattered which my daughter Maisy witnessed. She is devastated and traumatised as are we as a family. I had to lay on Loki to prevent him from trying to get up and mum helped to hold him down whilst we waited for a vet to get there to euthanise him. My daughter Lili was partially paralysed for 15 minutes and luckily has no further injuries just a very sore back. We are asking for help to raise money to campaign for the speed limit on Leeds road to be reduced and to raise awareness and try get horse safety and at least that dogs be put on leashes in areas where horses may be or livestock. This terrible tragedy could have been avoided if the dog was simply leashed to allow the girls riding to ride away. We have received so much support from people and will be on Calender and Look North and the police have opened an investigation into what happened. We have had a few people asking about the go fund me, so to make things a bit clearer, after meeting with the police, I am not confident that the police will do much to help us bring this tragic event and make a positive outcome of it. I intend to use some of the go fund me to help me bring the man who let his out of control dog cause my daughter’s horse to be horrifically killed to prosecution and I may need a solicitor. I’m also at the moment really concerned for my daughters mental health as she witnessed the whole tragedy, and may need to pay for private therapy which may be costly, due to nhs waiting times. I also have kindly been offered a foal for maisy by a very compassionate stud and I’m hoping that this will help her to not give up because her passion is horses, I am a single mother so I’m doing what I can, and I appreciate that people may not wish to help and that is completely fine, but I really don’t want another tragedy like this to happen with any other child, horse or the public, it was horrific and I have photos of his injuries but they are too graphic to put on which I think would help the public to know how bad this was. Please do not feel committed as we have had immense support and we intend to bring justice for Loki xx
