Justice for Lily Lovebug – Help Us Get Legal Action for Animal Abuse

On May 2nd, our family left for vacation and left our sweet dog, Lily, with someone we thought was a trusted family friend. When we returned yesterday, we were devastated to find Lily with severe burns on her head that had already started to heal. We rushed her to the emergency vet clinic, PAW, where she received medication and care. Unfortunately, because the wounds had already started healing, there wasn’t much they could do for the burns at that point.

The man who was supposed to care for her had been told that if she became too much, someone else could come pick her up. Instead, he ignored our calls, never reached out for help, and failed to mention anything had happened—until finally responding with, “be forewarned, she has a little burn on her head from my hot car.” The vet, however, said the injury was clearly caused by scalding hot liquid, not just surface heat. On top of the burns to her head, Lily also has sores on her nose, belly, legs, and feet, along with what appear to be puncture wounds.

This is not okay.

We’re raising money to hire an attorney and pursue legal action for this cruel and heartless abuse. Lily deserves justice—and we want to make sure no other animal suffers at the hands of this man. Our goal is to raise $5,000, which will go toward:

Court costs and expert witnesses

Any needed follow-up care for Lily
