Laila Thomas tragically lost her father, La'Andre Thomas, to a police shooting in Sandy Springs, Georgia, on Dec 4, 2025.
Laila world changed forever when officers with the Sandy Springs Police Department shot and killed her father, leaving him with three gunshot wounds — including two to the head. The circumstances surrounding his death are still unclear, and our family is left devastated, confused, and searching for answers.
La'Andre was a father, a son, a brother, a friend, and someone deeply loved by his child. His daughter is now facing life without her father because of an incident that never should have happened.
They are now fighting for:
Justice and accountability
They are working with legal professionals to understand what truly happened and to give their daughter the justice her father deserves.
Funeral and memorial expenses
This tragedy was unexpected, and they were not prepared for the costs associated with laying him to rest with dignity.
Long-term support for his daughter
His death creates a lifelong emotional and financial impact for Laila child. Funds will help with:
• Counseling and therapeutic support for her trauma
• Stability and care needs
• Future educational support
Legal costs and advocacy
As we push for transparency, body-cam footage, investigation findings, and answers, we are facing legal and administrative expenses. This fight is not easy, and we want to ensure the daughter’s rights are fully protected.
