Justice for Kiyo: Help Find His Abuser

Hello all,

My Name is Celeste Garcia, im setting up this gofundme on behalf of my sister Aubrey Garcia for her dog Kiyo.

Many of you may have heard the story already, but in case your new here, this gofundme is for reward money for the person who can lead us to the monster who abused and killed our baby Kiyo in Loxley Alabama.

Kiyos story started back on August 8th , 2023 when unfortunately he and a few of our other dogs escaped from our backyard around 10:15pm when let out for their nighttime potty break. By 10:25 my sister realized they were missing and we all went on a search for the 3 dogs, (Kiyos mom Zia, Zanni our alpha dog, and Kiyo, who was just a baby at only 13 weeks). About 5 minutes into our search we found both Zia and Zanni but no signs of Kiyo. We spent HOURS combing the neighborhoods looking for him with no such luck. The next day we went door to door asking for ring camera footage for possible sightings where we learned that an eye witness saw a man, exiting a beat up looking 4 door dark colored sedan, grab kiyo away from his moms side, put him into the car and drive away heading out of the neighborhood. At this point we listed Kiyos microchip as STOLEN and began making flyers, posts, notifying vets, and checking all online for sale sites for any sign of Kiyo. We offered a $2000 reward at the time for his safe return, no questions asked. We questioned neighbors again and again and were constantly posting Kiyo to social media to try and keep his name and story fresh in everyone’s minds and hearts.

Over the year and a half Kiyo has been missing, we have followed over 50+ leads and sightings that brought us nowhere closer to getting our baby back, but we have never given up hope. Our family prayed that maybe he found his way to another loving family and that he was happy.

On Thursday May 15th, my sister received a call from Loxley Police Department in Loxley Alabama. Kiyo was found dead, tied to a pole with his mouth taped shut and obvious signs of neglect and abuse. Our hearts are broken.

Loxley PD is launching an investigation under animal cruelty and neglect and is currently trying to help us find the disgusting monster who spent the last 18 months since Kiyo was taken, abusing and mistreating our beloved baby. Thats where this gofund me comes in to place. Any money raised here will go directly to the person who helps us locate and catch this monster as a reward. We know someone somewhere saw something, we need their help and we need your help to help is get justice for our sweet Kiyo.

As always anything is greatly appreciated. If we are unable to find Kiyo or get any leads, after a year or at the discretion of Loxley PDs investigation, any money made here will be donated to 2 nonprofit animal abuse advocacys / rescue groups (one here in Phoenix, AZ and one in Loxley, AL.) we have not definitively determined which groups of yet but have a few in mind.
