Fundraiser for Medical Expert Fees

Hi, my name is Tykia, and I’m reaching out for support in a fight for justice for my daughter, Kassidy, who was born on April 28, 2017, at local hospital in Newport News, VA. During my labor, I was left unattended for hours, despite expressing serious concerns. I told the staff my baby wasn’t breathing on the monitor — and no one responded in time.

When Kassidy was finally born, she was blue, not breathing, and had been without oxygen for 7–8 minutes. There was no medical team around to help. Hours after giving birth, I was discharged while my baby was rushed to CHKD in critical condition.

Today, Kassidy is 8 years old and living with cerebral palsy caused by this negligence. I am currently pursuing legal action against the hospital — but in order to move forward, my lawyer needs to secure a medical expert to testify on our behalf.
