Justice for Julie Valadez – Help a Mother Fight for Freedom
Donation protected
Julie Valadez is a mother, a survivor of domestic violence, and a courageous advocate — now facing unjust felony charges in Wisconsin simply for protecting her children.
After years of fighting through the family court system to escape abuse and stay connected to her four children, Julie has now been criminally charged for “custody interference” in Walworth County. Her son, Ethan, bravely fled to be with her in Canada after escaping alleged abuse. Instead of protecting this family, the legal system is punishing them.
Julie voluntarily returned to Wisconsin to fight these frivolous charges — even after suffering a life-threatening heart attack while in custody. Now, she’s being held on an unbelievable $500,000 cash bail, despite being non-violent, medically fragile, and legally vindicated by the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, which ruled that the original custody rulings were made in error.
How You Can Help
We are raising funds to help cover:
Julie’s legal defense
A motion to reduce her excessive bail
Potential bond assistance for her release
Court and travel fees related to fighting this case
Support for her children and family, who are suffering alongside her
Every dollar counts. If 5,000 people give $100 — we can meet our goal. But even $5, $10, or $25 shows your solidarity and makes a difference.
Why This Matters
Julie’s story is not just her own — it represents thousands of survivors silenced or criminalized by broken family court systems. She’s already won one appeal. She has the courage to keep fighting.
Now she needs us to fight with her.
Let’s show that justice, compassion, and truth are still possible. Let’s bring Julie home to her children and make sure no other mother is treated this way again.
