JoLene Kaylou Henry, 23, was a vibrant and creative soul whose life was tragically cut short in Aurora, Colorado. Born in Poteau, Oklahoma, JoLene was known for her passion for the arts—her drawings, paintings, and crafts brought color and joy to everyone around her. She graduated from Fountain–Fort Carson High School and continued to pursue her artistic dreams, leaving a lasting impression on her family, friends, and community.
On the night of October 15th, JoLene was struck by an ambulance that was not on a call as she crossed the street to go home from work. My uncle lives at this intersection and after arriving home from running errands he saw an ambulance in the road but didn’t think anything of it because he says these accidents happen all the time in this area, but when he saw the time and realized my cousin was not home yet he attempted to call her phone and when she didn’t answer the call he immediately ran to the scene and realized it was his niece. The impact made her belongings fly away from her so at first they could not ID her without my uncle arriving to the scene and meeting them at the hospital right away. Despite the efforts of medical staff and the support of her loved ones, JoLene passed away on October 18th after being on life support for two days. Her family was by her side, honoring her wish to help others through organ donation.
JoLene’s family is now seeking justice and answers. Law enforcement has not provided information about the circumstances of the accident, and the family is left with many questions. Funds raised will go directly toward lawyer fees, to send correspondence letters and hopefully get answers. Your support will help us find the truth and honor JoLene’s memory. We are grateful for any help as we fight for justice for JoLene.
