My name is Whitney Brown Tune, and I am the mother of Jaleeyah “Lee Lee” Tune.

On December 21, 2025, my 13-year-old daughter, Jaleeyah, was killed in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

She was only 13 years old.

Losing my daughter has changed every part of my life. Since Jaleeyah passed away, I have only been able to return to work once. I tried, but the grief was overwhelming. At the same time, I have continued doing everything I can as her mother to seek answers, preserve information, communicate with officials, pursue legal assistance, and advocate for accountability.

For months, I tried to carry these responsibilities without asking others for financial help. I have now reached a point where seeking professional assistance requires resources I cannot provide alone.

I am raising funds so that I can retain independent, qualified professionals, including a licensed private investigator and legal counsel, to help my family independently review the circumstances surrounding Jaleeyah’s death and pursue every appropriate and lawful avenue available to us.

This is not about revenge. It is about truth, accountability, and justice.

I am not asking donors to determine who is responsible. Those conclusions must come from evidence and the law. I am asking for help obtaining the professional resources necessary to make sure the questions surrounding my daughter’s death can be examined carefully and thoroughly.

Donations may help cover independent investigative services, attorney consultations and representation, appropriate digital or forensic review, records and documents, evidence organization, court and administrative costs, travel for case-related meetings and proceedings, and other reasonable expenses associated with seeking answers and accountability.

Because I have been unable to return to work normally since losing Jaleeyah, a portion of the funds may also be used for necessary household and living expenses while I continue navigating this devastating loss and pursuing justice for my daughter.

I want to be completely transparent about how this support may be used.

Jaleeyah was more than what happened to her.

She was my baby. She was a daughter. She was loved. She had dreams, a future, and an entire life ahead of her.

I cannot bring my daughter back. What I can do is continue standing up for her, asking questions, seeking the truth, and working to make sure her story is never forgotten.

My fight has also grown beyond my own family. I am advocating for stronger protections, prevention, and accountability so that another child may be protected and another family may be spared this pain.

I know many people are facing financial struggles of their own, and I do not take asking for help lightly. Any donation, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated.

If you cannot donate, please share Jaleeyah’s story. One share could reach an attorney, investigator, advocate, organization, journalist, or someone else who may be able to help.

Thank you for standing with my family.

Thank you for helping me continue seeking answers.

And most importantly, thank you for remembering Jaleeyah.
