Justice for Jaime Barbosa: Support Funeral Costs

Hi friends/family.
I have never had to do this before, but here I am breaking through my own personal barriers of trying not to believe that no one will support me and ill have to figure it out on my own. I'm asking my community for help. Recently my younger brother experienced medical malpractice and it resulted in his death... with so many moving parts going on I am finally at a place to go public about his story. Jaime Barbosa at only age 24 and being diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar, autism, and partially growing up in mental health behavioral facilities passed away Wednesday morning of July 24th. Before this on Monday morning July 22,2025 my brother had been yelling things about his past and his griefs going into spirals that he struggled with almost his whole life in my grandmas house where he lived. Our mom past away when I was 9 and he was 7 , our dad recently passed away a year ago, but that guy was never in the picture and chose to engulf his emotions with drugs. I want to be transparent so you could understand the things my brother gone through. Back to HIS story, the same day he messaged a CA state social worker stating that he was done with living life and was going to take all his psychiatric medications to overdose. This worker reported it to my grandma and said he would send the police department right away. Police showed up, but due to my brother being unconscious and unable to wake from the meds... they said they couldn't do anything because they believed he was only ASLEEP. My grandma updated the social worker and he couldn't believe that they didn't take him into the hospital... he then reported this to The Department of Mental Health hoping that they could get a MET team sent to the house. (A MENTAL EVALUATION TEAM) the MET did show up and were able to get paramedics on site, but unfortunately they also failed to give my brother the help he needed. They ALL decided my brother was unevaluable while aware that he had taken multiple full capsules of meds and told my grandma to let him sleep it off. The next day July 23,2025 my grandma had called me in the morning before heading to work and had let me know that she was worried about my brother sleeping for too long, she had told me what was going on (as I stated above) and I responded with showing up and calling paramedics and demanding they take him into the ER and they did! The next morning he passed, the medications had been overworking his heart for too long and in medical records it says his heart became blocked. His medical team did what they could to try and save him, but his pulse never came back. I am now am on a mission and going through the process of getting justice for my brother and asking my community for a small portion of the funeral costs. Anything helps and like my grandma says a dollar is better than nothing. I want to let you all know that if any of you ever needed my help I would gladly do the same as I am always striving to give back to my community in different ways. Much love, light, and healing to you all, THANK YOU AND PLEASE SHARE.
