JUSTICE FOR GODFRED

He was acting as the designated driver for some friends, when their car slipped on the ice and got stuck in a snow bank. Constables Ben Donockley and Kyle Kwasnica showed up — they arrested Godfred without due cause and put him into into their vehicle.

They drove him away from his home and DROPPED HIM OFF IN -28°C snowy Calgary weather at a construction site where there was no one. (Did I mention he is from Ghana and was only wearing a track suit and it was 3:45 in the A.M.?!!)

He called 911 for help, but they told him it was for emergencies only and hung up.

He called again and finally, after he'd been in the freezing cold for 15 minutes, Constable Trevor Lindsay showed up and swore at him, told him to “stop calling 911”, tasered him IN THE BACK, and handcuffed him. Then he decided to drag Godfred BY THE HANDCUFFS through the snow, and then brutally beat him while he was helpless and handcuffed.

I watched it last night and Godfred and I found each other on IG. He is a lovely man, who’s life has been flipped upside down because of this brutality. Legal fees, physiotherapy, emotional support are all more difficult to handle when you have suffered the trauma he has.

PLEASE GIVE WHATEVER YOU CAN AND PASS IT ON.

Godfred deserves to have something good happen to him.
