This fight began in 1974. As a child in the Utah foster care system, I was subjected to **state-sanctioned torture and abuse**. After being burned in my first foster home, the state moved me to a second home—**a home they already knew had a history of abuse.** In that house, I was subjected to literal torture, including being forced to smoke entire packs of cigarettes, leading to a lifelong addiction. I was also subjected to horrific abuse from my foster brother and foster father. To hide their negligence, the state **forced an adoption which left me in the care of those abusers.** By stealing my birth name and forcing me to take theirs, they broke the paper trail and left me trapped in a house of torture.
**The Humanitarian Mission: For the Other Victims**
I live with PTSD and expressive disorders because of this torture, and every day I carry a last name that belongs to predatory monsters. **But this isn't just about me.** I know that if the State of Utah did this to me, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of other former foster children out there who cannot seek justice because their records are sealed and hidden. I am fighting to reclaim my own name, but my main goal is to break these records open for everyone. These victims deserve the truth, and I am the one holding the map to where the "bodies are buried."
**The Proof in My Hands**
I am not just asking you to take my word for it. I am sharing the evidence here: the emails from the DWS commissioners, the letters from the Salt Lake City Police, and a photo of me holding the **certified 1990 West Valley City police report** I finally recovered—which contains a witness to the abuse. While the Civil Rights Division tried to squash my case after the AG’s office intervened, I now have the documentation they claimed didn't exist. I know the records are being stored in **Colorado** to keep them out of reach, and I am going to get them.
**Why I am Seeking Outside Legal Counsel**
I am raising funds to **hire federal attorneys from outside the State of Utah.** The deep-seated nepotism within the Utah legal system makes it impossible to find a local team that isn't compromised. I need an outside federal team that isn't afraid to take on the state of Utah to:
* Force the release of the "road map" of records currently stored in Colorado for myself and others.
* Challenge the local collusion and identity theft without the interference of Utah nepotism.
* Legally finalize my name change to sever my ties with my abusers forever.
