My name is Bonnie Taylor and I am the aunt of Garret Rodriguez. You may have heard about Garret’s tragic murder if you watched Murder Mountain.
The devastation that his mother, Pamela and his father “Buzz” and myself have experienced over the past six years since we last saw Garret is indescribable. He was just a sweet kid from San Diego who simply wanted to earn enough money to build a house in Baja California where he loved to surf and fish.
We cannot count on law enforcement alone to do the work it takes to bring justice for Garret. Too much time has already been wasted waiting for action to be taken. The notoriety of this case had brought international attention to the problems in Humboldt, issues with law enforcement and the marijuana industry in general. Our family’s focus is on the investigation of Garret’s murder.
We have covered the costs of a private investigation for the past six years. Without their work we wouldn’t be where we are now. The recent notoriety of this case has brought in leads that need to be followed up on by our investigators.
The support from around the world has helped our family immensely. We no longer feel alone in our concerns. Garret’s parents and myself will continue to see this case to the end no matter how long it takes or how much energy it requires.
