In Memory of Eden and Feven

My family is enduring an unimaginable tragedy. On August 31, 2025, two beloved sisters, just 20 and 22 years old, were callously murdered in a brutal act of violence in Cincinnati, Ohio. I am struggling to comprehend this loss. My heart is broken beyond repair. Feven and Eden were a source of immense joy, love, and light in my family. Their very names meant “light” and “paradise” — and they embodied those meanings every day of their lives.

Born in Ethiopia, they enjoyed a happy early childhood — until tragedy struck. At only seven and nine years old, they lost their beloved mother in a senseless act of domestic violence at the hands of their father. From that moment forward, their grandmother and aunt became their pillars of strength and love. In 2018, the sisters moved to the United States in search of a brighter future. They dreamed of becoming doctors — to heal, to save lives, and to stand against domestic violence to protect women and girls.

Today, that future has been stolen from them. But I am determined to honor their memory with dignity and purpose. Funds raised will be used to cover funeral and memorial service costs, giving these sisters the farewell they deserve.

I am deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this dark time. Together, we can honor Feven and Eden’s memory and carry forward their light.

ቤተሰቤ ለመገመት በሚያዳግት ከባድ እና ልብ ሰባሪ ሁኔታ ውስጥ ይገኛል።እ.ኤ.አ. ኦገስት 31፣ 2025፣ የ20 እና የ22 አመት እድሜ ያላቸው ሁለት ተወዳጅ ልጆቼ በአሰቃቂ ሁኔታ በኦሀዮ ግዛት ውስጥ በሲንሲናቲ ከተማ በግፍ ተገድለዋል። ልቤ ምንጊዜም ላይጠገን ተሰብሯል። ፌቨን እና ኤደን በቤተሰቤ ውስጥ ታላቅ የደስታ፣ የፍቅር እና የብርሃን ምንጭ ነበሩ። ስማቸውም “ብርሃን” እና “ገነት” ማለት ነው - እና እነዚያን ትርጉሞች በየእለቱ ይሮሩዋቸው ነበር። ኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ ተወልደው ደስታ የተሞላበት የጨቅላ ልጅነት ግዜ ነበራቸው። ገና በሰባት እና ዘጠኝ ዓመታቸው፣ በአባታቸው እጅ በተፈፀመ የቤት ውስጥ ጥቃት የሚወዷትን እናታቸውን አጥተዋል። ከዚያን ጊዜ ጀምሮ አያታቸው እና አክስታቸው የጥንካሬ እና የፍቅር ምሰሶ ሆነው አሳደጓቸው ።

እ.ኤ.አ. በ 2018 እነዚህ እህትማማቾች ብሩህ ተስፋን ፍለጋ ወደ አሜሪካ ሊመጡ ቻሉ፣ የህክምና ዶክተሮች የመሆን ህልም ነበራቸው፤ ለመፈወስ ፣ ህይወትን ለማዳን፣ ሴቶችን እና ልጃገረዶችን ለመጠበቅ እንዲሁም የቤት ውስጥ ጥቃትን ለመከላከልና ለመቃወም ህልም ነበራቸው ።ይህ አላማ እና ምኞታቸው በውጥን መክኖ ቀርቷል። ተሰርቋልም ። ሆኖም ግን እነዚህን ውብ ልጆች ለመዘከር፣ በክብር እና በዓላማ ለማክበር ቆርጨ ተነስቻለሁ ። የተሰበሰበው ገንዘብ ለቀብር እና መታሰቢያ አገልግሎት ወጪዎችን ለመሸፈን ይውላል፣ ይህም ለእነዚህ እህቶች የሚገባቸውን ስንብት ያከናውናል።

በዚህ የጨለማ ጊዜ ላሳያችሁኝ እና በፍቅር ላደረጋችሁልኝ ድጋፍና ፀሎት ከልብ አመሰግናለሁ። በጋራ፣ የፌቨንና እና የኤደንን ትውስታ እና ትዝታ ስናከብር ብርሃናቸውን ማራመድ እንችላለን።
