Dylon Ray Oothoudt, 17 years old, of Onigum & Ball Club Minnesota, was tragically killed in Cass Lake, Minnesota on September 13th, 2026.
He had attended the Cass Lake Powwow earlier that day, and left with acquaintances. Sometime during the night, Dylon was fatally shot. His body was found in a yard around 8:00am on John Moose Drive in Cass Lake, Minnesota, locally known as Tract 33.
Despite an ongoing investigation involving Cass County, Leech Lake Tribal Police, and the BCA, there have been no arrests. His killer is still out there, as well as anyone who may have a hand in his killing, and we want answers and accountability.
Dylon touched so many lives in his short 17 years. He was such a kind, funny, adventurous, and loving kid who enjoyed riding 4-wheelers, dirt bikes, cruising the village on his bike, fishing, hanging out with his best friends and cousins, and just being with family.
He was also an athlete, who played basketball and football for Walker Hackensack Akeley, and a boxer with the Leech Lake Boxing Association.
He lived a life with kindness, respect, laughter, and love, some of the greatest qualities one could have, allowing him to touch SO many hearts in his short life.
Dylon did not deserve to have his life taken in such a cruel and disgusting manner. This tragedy has left so many people hurting, so many lives broken, leaving us with so many unanswered questions.
We are seeking Justice in his murder and have come to the decision to offer an award for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of any and everyone involved. And, it's likely we may seek out assistance from private investigators.
The decision to crowd fund was made by members of Dylon's family. We are asking your help in raising the funds to offer an award, and possibly pay for private investigators.
Thank you so much for your love and support throughout this tragedy.
