Hello everyone, my name is Ariel Malta. My mother Julie Enriquez and I are fundraising for my beloved cousin
DESTINY ORETGA.
My cousin was 32 years old, and was taken from us way to soon from a system who failed her safety. She leaves behind 3 beautiful children. She was a mother, a daughter, a sister, a niece and a great friend to many ❤
On December 28th my cousin was taken into custody at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Los angeles, CA.
On December 29th at 3 a.m. she was found unresponsive on the floor in a pool of blood by a deputy officer conducting a security check and was then pernounced dead at the scene. The other cell mate was found laying in her bunk and has refused to speak with detectives, along with other deputies who were on call that night.
The facility failed to make contacted with a family member.
And NOW a week later on January 7th, my family and I were aware of this tragedy through social media from a Facebook post from KTLA & LA TIMES.
We are asking for our family, friends & the community to help serve #JusticeForDestinyOrtega funding will also go towards an attorney to help serve #JusticeForDestinyOrtega
