El 28 de Octubre de 2020 alrededor de las 2:30 pm de la tarde Derek Trucios, un hispano de 17 años, fue brutalmente asesinado y le quitaron la vida. Derek Trucios y Michael Hueyopa fueron víctimas de un intento de robo cerca de East 26th Street y Foster Avenue en Flatbush. Mientras Derek y Michael hicieron un esfuerzo por defenderse, de repente recibieron un disparo. Se informó que Derek Trucios recibió un disparo en la cara y el pecho y Michael en el brazo izquierdo. Me and Derek were very close friends and as one of his friends I wanted to make a way to help his family pay off his funeral by raising money. The money will also help make sure that his family is also stable after the funeral. I am planning on adding his mother, Isabel Trucios to this account in order for her to receive all of the donations for her and her family. During these times is where we need to come together. On October 28, 2020 around 2:30pm in the afternoon both Derek Trucios, a 17 year old hispanic, was brutally murdered and got his life taken away. Derek Trucios and Michael Hueyopa were targeted as victims for an attempted robbery near East 26th Street and Foster Avenue in Flatbush . While both Derek and Michael made an effort to defend themselves, they abruptly got shot. Derek Trucios was reported to be shot on both his face and chest and Michael on his left arm.. However, Derek Trucios didn’t survive the gunshots and was later announced dead. His family and loved ones are still in disbelief of this tragedy and need the help and support of everyone. With the help of everyone, we can all reassure that Derek Trucios will rest in peace and that he, Michael Hueyopa ,and all their families receive the justice they deserve. Derek had said to want to become a doctor and always had a heart of gold, he was known and loved by many and is why we need to bring more attention and awareness to this tragedy.
