Hello, my name is Marina Solis, and I’m a mother fighting to protect my 6-year-old son, Damien Solis, a joyful, sweet boy who is on the autism spectrum and has speech delay (though he is NOT non-verbal).
On March 21, 2025, our lives were shaken. Damien came home from school and began changing out of his uniform when we discovered bruises and pinch marks that had broken his skin. We were horrified. Damien had been abused by a teachers aide at his elementary school in prince georges county.
We immediately reported the incident to the police, child protective services and prince georges county public schools. We trusted that action would be taken to keep Damien and other children safe. But tragically, that trust was broken.
As the new school year began, we found out that same abuser had been allowed to return to the school. I was assured by the principal that she would be kept on a different floor. But on a recent visit- just weeks into the new school year— i personally saw this individual in the same room as my son.
This is not just re traumatizing — it’s dangerous!!!
I have filed for a restraining order to keep this person away from Damien, but I am now pursuing legal action to have her removed permanently and to hold the school system accountable for allowing this to happen.
Unfortunately, legal representation is expensive and we cannot do this alone. I am asking for help to raise funds to hire a lawyer who will fight for Damien’s rights, his safety and the justice he deserves.
Damien is a vulnerable child that depends on us to protect him!
Allowing an accused abuser back into a school, let alone near her alleged victim is a complete failure of the system!!!!!
we are not just fighting for Damien but for every child who deserves a safe learning environment!!
Funds would be used towards legal fees and attorney retainer, court costs related to restraining orders and civil lawsuits.
Every donation, share and message of support would mean the world to us. I will not stop fighting until my son if safe and those responsible are held accountable!
Please donate and share our story!!!!
with gratitude,
Marina Solis
