Justice for Charlie Carmody

My name is Kalyn Carmody and I am trying to raise money to be able to continue the legal battle I have found myself in in the last year and a half. My father Charles (Charlie) Carmody passed away in March 2016 he was cremated and I kept his urn in my home until I moved to Duluth MN in 2021. I chose to bury him in the Nashwauk MN township Cemetery around July 2021 so he could be with his extended family that have all been laid to rest there going back to at least my Great Grandparents. As hard as it was finally laying him to rest I did so with knowing if anything happened to me his only child he would be safe and secure in his final resting place alongside his many relatives. Around April 2023 my Aunt (my father's sister) went to pay her respects to family buried in the cemetery she noticed a fresh coffin shaped mound of dirt over what was my father's grave. In a panic she contacted me, at first none of it made much sense. After numerous attempts to contact the cemetery where I was getting shuffled around from employee to employee I was finally contacted and informed upon what they stated occurred. My father's grave that I had selected and purchased had been sold to another party, they removed my father from his grave and from my understanding put him in some type of storage (they refuse to talk to me anymore). At some point they decided to open the grave in front of my father's to just place him on top of that individuals coffin and rebury it. That individual happens to be my Uncle Andrew Carmody who passed in December 2015. They blame this ALL on a "bookkeeping error" and to this date have not apologized or taken in my opinion any realistic steps to in any way rectify the situation. I was met with refusal when I asked for my father to be put back in his grave. When I began the legal process the individuals who run the cemetery took it upon themselves to again dig my father up this time from my Uncle Andy's grave and put him back in storage. They have done all of this without any type of consent or communication with anyone in the Carmody family. When I attempted to retrieve my father I was met with blocking due to the start of the legal process, when I finally did receive the urn back the decency to remove the dirt from the urn was "overlooked" I was handed an urn that still had dirt all over it. The amount of trauma I have experienced is not something words can adequately explain after failing to receive assistance from the original lawyer we were using I am now starting again to try and get some type of Justice for my dad and hold the cemetery responsible so they understand this is a big deal and should have never happened. Hopefully ensuring it doesn't happen again. Please if anyone can help in anyway I am sorry to ask but I am running out of options. Thank you for your time ❤️ #JusticeforCharlie
