HELP US BUILD THE FIRST FRUITFUL ROOSTER HOME
This campaign powers the launch of FRUITFUL ROOSTER's first brick-and-mortar home for Black Luxury.
My name is Charles T. Kellam -- Founder and Creative Director of FRUITFUL ROOSTER Luxury Fashion House. Nearly two million people have witnessed the encounter I experienced with a store manager at Nordstrom Scottsdale Fashion Square—an encounter in which I maintain that I was racially profiled, stalked and accosted as a Black man.
What began online has since grown into a national conversation, with my story receiving coverage from Atlanta Black Star and the New York Post. But for me, the most powerful part of this story isn't the attention.
It's what we build from it.
The support that followed was organic, immediate and powerful. It brought something into sharp focus: we need more of our own outlets to #BuyBlackLuxury and support our own infrastructure, instead of continuing to hand our dollars to institutions where we may not always feel that our value is recognized.
As the Founder and Creative Director of FRUITFUL ROOSTER, it brings me a tremendous sense of honor to build the remedy with my mind and my own two hands -- and create opportunities for others that are sustainable and rewarding.
It has been a lifelong dream of mine to open a brick-and-mortar home for FRUITFUL ROOSTER. This extraordinary chapter has shown me that the dream extends far beyond me.
FROM ACCESS TO OWNERSHIP
Our vision is to create something beyond a traditional clothing store.
FRUITFUL ROOSTER is developing an immersive physical retail universe centered around Wearable Art, private-client experiences, made-to-measure design, storytelling and visual culture—creating a destination where people can experience the world of the house rather than simply purchase a product from it.
Imagine a space somewhere between a luxury boutique, private salon, gallery and atelier—a restorative environment centered around Wearable Art, storytelling and human connection. A home for unique and one-of-one luxury.
A place for private fittings, made-to-measure experiences, limited collections, art, conversation and community.
A place capable of creating sustainable opportunities and careers as FRUITFUL ROOSTER grows. And above all, an atmosphere of elite service where everyone—regardless of background—is treated fairly, kindly and like royalty.

As the momentum surrounding FRUITFUL ROOSTER has grown, so has our understanding of what it will take to responsibly bring this vision into the physical world.
$15,000 — Retail space & initial occupancy
$20,000 — Interior build-out & visual culture
$20,000 — Collection development, fabrics, tailoring & inventory
$10,000 — Fixtures, technology & operational infrastructure
$7,500 — Launch experiences & private-client programming
$7,500 — Working capital & contingency
TOTAL — $80,000
The $80,000 represents the first phase of bringing the FRUITFUL ROOSTER physical retail universe to life—not the complete capitalization of our eventual permanent flagship.
It gives us the opportunity to take FRUITFUL ROOSTER from digital presence to physical experience—to secure the right space, build the environment, put product on the floor, open the doors and prove what this concept can become.
