On Monday Sept. 28, Chan was told to reach out to the consulate in Lowell Ma to obtain a temporary travel document. Which he had the prior week, and was requested to show a screen shot of it. After leaving the appointment, 30 minutes later he gets a notification that showed ICE has the travel document in their posession and on file. He was confused about the situation. Why are they requesting him to obtain it, while the document showed it was dated for Aug 28, 2026?

The only conclusion would be that, they wanted to show on record that he was being uncooperative. He had complied with every request that ICE has been given to him. It is turning out to be a case of government overreach and misconduct.

All he needs is time to have his case heard and they are just trying to quietly send him on his way. It has already been 4 months since his legal team applied for his FOIA. To determine what he is eligible for, and still has not been produced. Senator Whitehouse’s staff also filed an inquiry to obtain it since June, and hasn’t heard any follow up also.

They already violated his class action settlement, withholding his Alien file, while wanting to deport him.

This is a matter of injustice to the max. The family is always on edge and anxiety level is on high. The Hongs appreciate each and every single donor going out of their way to support and share the awareness.
