Justice for Candace Guice
Candace Guice; a victim of the cruel and corrupt "injustice system" of Scioto County, Ohio. Candace was a young woman focused on success. While earning a bachelor's degree in the medical field, she worked full-time and managed a small business. Candace understood that it takes hard work and dedication to succeed and was well on her way to a bright future. Candace was and is not a criminal. In fact, prior to the event in Scioto County, she had never been arrested or even had a speeding ticket for that matter. While traveling to Kentucky Christian University Candace was pulled over by an Ohio State Trooper and had been fighting for her life ever since. The trooper stated he had seen Candace swerving, but later changed his story and claimed her out-of-state tags made her suspicious. Candace wasn't breaking any laws. Candace was racially profiled by an officer with a long history of targeting black African American drivers, especially those with out-of-state tags. The charges against her were steep and terrifying. This hard-working young woman was blind-sided with triumphed-up charges with penalties that would result in her spending all her adult life in jail. She naturally sought counsel and was drawn to an attorney who seemed to understand and sympathize with Candace's plight. She gladly paid the lawyer's high fees, only to have her withdraw with no communication just before trial. The judge in this corrupt town denied Candace's request to find and acquire new counsel and instead gave a state attorney and no time to prepare for trial. This did not end well for Candace. The jury at Candace's trial contained a judge, prosecutor, correction officers, and people who outright admitted bias toward her. She was railroaded. She was found guilty by this small-town jury and sentenced to 20 to 26 years. Candace is still fighting for her life and some amount of justice. She needs your help to right these terrible wrongs through appeal. This was created to spread awareness of the corrupted systems throughout the United States and to support Candace funds obtained will help with legal fees. All support is much appreciated. Thank you!
