It is with broken hearts that we share the tragic loss of Brooklyn Taylor Garrett, our beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, auntie, co-worker, and friend, on May 15, 2025.

Brooklyn, the daughter of Paul A. Garrett and Denise Rankin (the late Michael Rankin Sr.), was taken from us far too soon due to foul play and betrayal while doing what she always did, helping someone, just being the kind soul she was.

Brooklyn moved from Tacoma, WA, to Atlanta, GA, over 15 years ago to follow her dreams. A passionate entrepreneur, she recently launched her own business, Beyond Beauty Bodies, where she worked as a licensed massage therapist and body sculpting technician. She was always hardworking and driven, but also held extra jobs to support herself and her goals.

She was gentle, loving, and deeply loved. Her absence is a devastating loss, but her light will always shine from the hearts of those she touched. The outpouring of love, prayers, and support has comforted our family during this unimaginable time. We are beyond grateful. So many of you have reached out, asking how you can help. Therefore, we are providing this opportunity for those who wish to support our efforts to bring Brooklyn home and give her the dignified, love-filled homegoing and celebration of life she deserves.

We are also committed to seeking justice for Brooklyn. Her life and legacy deserve to be remembered for the loving, selfless person she truly was. We will not rest until the truth is known and those responsible are held accountable.
