Justice for the murder of Bree!

This story is that of an awful and cruel act against a most innocent and loving horse named Bree.

At around 4pm on Feb. 6th 2024 Shawn Brayden Jones fatally shot a 12yr old AQHA mare (female - American Quarter Horse) named Bree. This mare was owned by Mr. Jones’s ex-girlfriend Mailee Cooper.

Mailee referred to Bree as her heart horse! She acquired the mare as a 3yr old. She then put in all the time, energy, hard work, and money it took to start the mare and finish this mare herself! This horse meant more to Mailee than most could possibly imagine. Mailee had been taking Bree to the indoor arena at the Bannock County Event Center Friday and Saturday evenings for breakaway roping practice. She continues to go to these practices to show support to her friends, no matter the heartache it causes her to not have her best friend there with her.

Mailee and her mother Jodi Donoghue have been great friends of mine for many years! Mailee actually ran barrels in high school on a very special mare of my own. We’ve always been involved in the equestrian world together; wether it be parades, rodeo, or just enjoying Idahos’ gorgeous outdoors horseback!

I’ve started this go fund me to help Mailee purchase another amazing performance horse and/or help with legal fees to pursue litigation. Of course to Mailee, Bree is irreplaceable. However, friends and family would love to see her honor the memory of Bree by continuing to pursue her equestrian dreams with another horse!
