There is nothing so innocent and beautiful as a carefree child being able to run and play and be a child, without having to take on the burdens of fear of safety that many adults are exposed to. Unfortunately, my son (baby Ted) was brutally and horribly abused by his Mother’s boyfriend. The abuser has been convicted and sentenced to 45 years in prison. Baby Ted’s Mother was sentenced to 7 years’ probation for her knowledge of the abuse and failure to report, while helping to hide it from Myself and my family.
Baby Ted is in my care now while I attempt to return my child to being a carefree child and learning to trust people again and not live in fear. Baby Ted currently has supervised visits with his Mother once a week where he is constantly in fear of being abused (even while supervised). If that was not enough, there have been attempts by her family and friends to take my son from my home and to sign him out of school, causing him to live in constant fear of now being taken. CPS and Sheriffs have been a continuous part of my son’s life. When their attempts were not successful, they have decided to fight me for custody of my Son. If I lose this battle, my son (baby Ted) will be placed back in the same home as the person who exposed him to and failed to protect him from an abuser.
I am now at a situation where my Son’s safety comes down to my ability to pay for proper legal representation and fight for my son. This is a Battle Baby Ted cannot lose.
